Losses continued to persist on the ZSE as the All-Share Index retreated 0.68% to 357.42pts while, the segregated Industrials fell by 0.64% to 351.30pts. The Blue-Chip Index was 1.73% lower at 356.79pts as CBZ, FMHL, Delta and Hippo weighed on the index. The Mid Cap Index was 3.89% firmer at 385.27pts extending its YTD gains to 38.51%. ZIDA has reported a 2,406% increase in domestic direct investment and a 62% rise in projected investment value compared to the previous quarter, with the chief executive pointing to significant improvements in the investment environment despite a fall in the total number of licences issued.

The ZSE retreated in the week under review, weighed down primarily by losses in the heavy and mid-cap counters. The All Share Index was 0.17% weaker at 359.85pts while, the Blue Chip Index was 0.15% down at 363.07pts. The Mid Cap Index was 0.43% weaker at 370.83pts while, on the contrary the Industrial Index was 0.02% firmer at 353.57pts as it extended its YTD gains to 30.09%. Unifreight Africa announced that it has entered into a sale of shares agreement for the acquisition of an effective 87.67% shareholding in Cheeta Express – the sole authorised global service participant for FedEx Express Zimbabwe, in a deal worth US$2.08m which represents 15.7% of the company’s market cap.

The ZSE reversed prior week’s losses in the week under review as the primary All Share Index rose 0.33% to 360.46pts while, the Blue-Chip Index gained 5.87% to 372.44pts. The Mid Cap Index ticked up 3.34% to 372.44pts as the Agriculture Index eased 0.49% to 363.62pts. Elsewhere, Tigere released its Q1 2026 trading update in which the fund registered a net property income 120.17% and declared a dividend of USD$0.0544 cents per unit.

ZSE firms up as reporting season gets underway… The ZSE firmed up in the week under review as the reporting season dominated conversations, with companies reporting stellar performances backed by a stable macroeconomic environment. The All Share Index was 2.38% firm at 362.34pts while, the Old Industrials firmed up 2.60% to settle at 356.10pts. The Blue Chip Index was 2.61% higher at 370.62pts while, the Mid Cap Index was 1.16% higher at 353.27pts. Hotelier RTG released its FY25 results in which revenue rose by 13% to US$50.65m to result in a PAT of US$3.26m and declared a final blended dividend of US0.26cents and ZWG1.091.

ZSE reverses prior week’s gains… The ZSE market reversed prior week's gains, mainly weighed down by heavy and medium cap counters that experienced profit taking in the week under review. The All-Share Index was 3.51% weaker at 351.69pts while, the Blue-Chip Index was 3.48% down at 359.79pts. The Old Industrial Index was 3.70% lower at 344.72pts while, the Mid Cap Index lost 3.67% during the week to 342.49pts. Elsewhere, Zimbabwe’s dairy industry is set for a significant shift after the Competition and Tariff Commission approved the proposed acquisition of dairy processor Dendairy by Vamara Group Limited, a subsidiary of Mauritius-registered Export Trading Group, subject to conditions.

ZSE recovers in the first week of March… The ZSE market recovered in the first week of March as the All-Share Index was 1.50% higher at 364.48pts while, the Industrial Index was 2.04% firmer at 357.95pts. The Blue-Chip Index was 1.51% up at 372.77pts, mainly anchored by gains in Econet, CBZ and NMB. The Mid cap Index was 1.43% higher at 355.53pts, exending its YTD gains to 27.82pts. Elsewhere, Zimbabwean platinum production is expected to rebound by 3% to about 518,000 ounces in 2026, benefiting from operational stabilisation and incremental efficiency gains at existing mines.

The ZSE market rebounded in the first week of the month as the primary All Share Index charged 1.31% to 360.71pts while, the segregated Industrial Index edged up 1.58% to 350.10pts. The Blue-Chip Index firmed up 1.64% to settle at 372.71pts. In contrast, the Mid Cap Index lost 0.60% to 323.84pts. Elsewhere, Econet Wireless released a delisting circular in which the telecom giant proposed to offer minority shareholders US$0.17 per share for mobile network operator assets; the company will further list its infrastructural assets on the VFEX under a vehicle called Econet InfraCo at a ratio of 1:1, with shares valued at US$0.33.
