Bullish sentiment prevailed in month-end trades, in the week under review, mainly anchored by improved activity that emanated from portfolio rebalancing, fuelling a significant rally, with the Blue-Chip Index recording double-digit gains. The All-Share Index was 9.28% firmer at 435.00pts while, the Industrial Index followed suit as it gained 9.29% to settle at 427.53pts. The Blue-Chip Index recorded double digit gains as it garnered 10.69% to close pegged at 442.72pts widening its YTD gains to 57.12pts. The Mid Cap Index inched up 3.13% to close trading at 429.65pts. Elsewhere, Hippo released an impressive set of results in which it reported a profit for the year of US$24.06m and declared a final dividend of US$0.0150.
Twenty counters registered gains during the week against four fallers while, four remained unchanged to leave the market with a positive breadth of sixteen. Banking group CBZ led the risers of the week on a 56.11% surge that took it to an all-time high of $37.6500. Mashonaland Holdings Limited went up 27.50% to settle at $1.7480 while, CAFCA advanced 18.03% to close at $19.0000 on resurgent demand. Banking group TN Cybertech added 14.93% to end pegged at $0.1965 on the back of firming demand. Unifreight rose 14.83% to $1.7225 with Proplastics following on a 10.42% uptick as it settled at $1.3250. African Distillers recovered 7.14% to close at $15.0000 while, First Mutual Limited increased to $2.8820 on a 5.77% rise, having reached a high of $3.1050. Banking group ZB Financial Holdings added 5.77% week on week and closed at $5.5000. Turnall Holdings Limited completed the top ten fallers’ set on a 4.27% rise that took it $0.1195.
On the loser’s side was construction group that headlined on a 5.70% plunge as it settled at $3.2000 on selling pressure. British American Tobacco lost 3.56% to $178.5571 on waning demand. Rainbow Tourism Group was 0.60% lower at $1.2500 while, ZSE Holdings eased 0.54% to $1.5416 as it wrapped the weekly fallers’ list.
