The ZSE faltered in the week under review as losses seen mainly in Mid-Cap counters weighed down the market. The primary All Share Index fell 1.31% to 194.97pts while, the Blue-Chip Index eased 0.39% to 192.75pts.  The Industrial Index shed 1.31% to close at 194.82pts while, the Mid Cap Index dropped 4.18% to 225.84pts. Elsewhere, Financial services group, ZBFH is expecting to comply with the central bank’s conditions to surrender the licence of its building society unit by year end.

Leading the laggards of the week was Nampak Holdings Limited which slumped 24.98% to close at $0.7200. Willdale followed on a 20.63% decline that took it to $0.0400 while, Ariston dropped 17.78% to end the week at $0.0396. TSL Limited trimmed 14.98% week on week to close at $1.7200 as banking group ZBFH eased further by 14.53% to $3.0000 on weakening demand. Sugar processor Hippo Valley also featured in the loser’s zone after succumbing 12.86% to settle at $6.9710, where demand could be established. Seed producers SeedCo Limited lost 12.03% week on week to see it ending at $2.3751 in the last session of the week, having reached a low of $2.3600. Cable manufacturers CACFA Limited retreated 10% to settle at $18.0000. OK Zimbabwe Limited was 9.53% down at $0.2800 on the back of selling pressure. Banking group FBC dropped 8.02% to end at $7.0000.

Overall, nineteen counters recorded losses during the week against nine risers while, four remained stable to leave the market with a negative breadth of ten. Zimpapers headlined the winners of the week on a 15% surge that took it to $0.1265 with heavy cap Econet advancing 7.50% to end at $3.9798, having traded an intra-week high of $4.1400. FML was 5.16% higher at $4.0000 while, RTG added 3.17% to end at $0.6500, albeit it closing well offered in the last session of the week. Ecocash rebounded 2.08% to $0.1200 with NMB adding 1.36% to $3.7400. Proplastics was 0.61% firmer  week on week to close at $1.3833 while, CBZ rose 0.31% to $7.0000. Completing the risers’ list was General Beltings which went up 0.12% to settle at $0.1001.
