MARKET COMMENT 30.07.2026

Marginal gains in the penultimate session…
The market gained marginally in the penultimate session reversing losses from mid-week trades. The mainstream All Share Index was 0.71% up at 478.71pts while, the ZSE Top Ten Index rose 1.14% to 485.23pts. The ZSE Agriculture Index dropped 2.25% to close at 344.79pts while, the Mid Cap Index declined 1.18% to 480.68pts. Leading the winners of the day was General Beltings that charged 14.55% to $0.1260, trailed by AFDIS which surged 5.60% to $13.7279. Banking group CBZ edged up 4.62% to $40.4400 while, hotelier RTG grew 3.47% to $1.4486. SeedCo capped the top five gainers of the day on a 3.42% lift to $4.6538. Tea company Tanganda dropped 13.55% to $3.2849 while, brick makers Willdale dipped 9.24% to $0.0524. Milk processor Dairibord eased 4.40% to $6.3960 while, construction group Masimba shed 0.63% to $2.5700. Star Africa lost 0.20% to close the day at $0.0399.
Volume of shares traded succumbed 27.31% to 432,200 shares while, turnover plummeted 71.22% to $1.68m. Volume drivers of the day were Willdale, Tanganda and Ariston which claimed a combined 83.03% of the aggregate. Delta, Tanganda and AFDIS were the top value drivers of the day claiming 52.65%, 24.18% and 12.03% apiece. The Tigere REIT slipped 0.52% to settle at $1.1152 on 35,620 units while, the Revitus REIT was stable at $1.9825 on scrappy 13 units.
